

Irene Brenda Hebert, 86, of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024.She was born in Flushing, New York to Aloysius and Anne Schmidt. She attended Bayside High School and SUNY New Paltz.
Ilene met Albert Hebert during a hike on Mt. Mohonk on the Lemon Squeeze Trail. They married in 1959 and lived in Katonah, New York where she taught elementary school. In 1961 they moved to Yorktown Heights, NY where she was a stay-at-home mom. She opened a piano studio in their home where she gave piano lessons. She introduced music to many young people and passed on her love for music. She moved to Florida in 2009 after she retired.
She was a member of the Music Teachers Association as well as a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She was a devout catholic and lived her faith. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Ilene is survived by her children: Gregory, Ronald (Debra) and Christopher (Tina); grandchildren: Melissa (Thomas) Richardson, Kristin (Peter) Janes, Kevin (Kelly) Hebert and Matthew Hebert; and great grandchildren: Grant Richardson, Audrey Richardson, Sophia Janes and Ethan Janes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert E. Hebert, her brother James M. Schmidt and her grandson Steven C.D. Hebert.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers, Florida on Monday, January 6th from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 7th at St. Raphael Catholic Church 2514 Lee Blvd. Lehigh Acres, FL 33971. Entombment will follow at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ilene’s name may be made to Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908
