Jacquelyn Johns Roberts

She was born in Wauchula, FL on March 25, 1935.

Jacquelyn was a wonderful & sweet lady loved by all her family and friends. She supported her husband, Richard H Roberts as a farmer and cattle rancher. They were married for 52 years at his passing in 2008.

Jacquelyn was a very giving and caring person. She made donations to many local charities such as Community Cooperative Soup Kitchen that helps fight hunger and the homelessness, Pace Center for Girls which help girls from broken homes by providing year-round education, counseling and life skills for middle & high school age girls, and Hope Hospice just to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Roberts of Fort Denaud, FL; her father, Herbert L. Riles of Orange, FL; her mother, Lona L. Johns of Wauchula FL; her brother, Herbert Toby Riles of Wauchula, Fl; and her stepfather, Paul Thomas Johns of Wauchula, FL.

She embraced being a part of her husband’s pioneer family, but she also came from a family of pioneer settlers. The city of Arcadia, Fl was named after her great aunt Arcadia Albritton. James Madison “Boss” Hendry named the town in honor of Arcadia. The daughter of Jacquelyn’s great great grandparents, Thomas H & Fannie Albritton; pioneer settlers. Arcadia had baked a cake for his birthday, and he appreciated it so much he named the city after her.

Jacquelyn is survived by her son, Robert Richard Roberts of Felda, Fl; daughter, Neva Ann Roberts of Fort Denaud, Fl; grandson, Jordan Dius Roberts of Felda, Fl and great grandson Talen Dius Roberts of Olga, Fl.

A visitation for Jacquelyn will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 1st Baptist Church of LaBelle, 330 N Main St, LaBelle, FL 33935. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 330 N Main St, LaBelle, FL 33935. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, 12777 SR 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
