James Willie Coulombe

October 22, 1949August 2, 2018

James W. Coulombe, formerly of Berlin NH, now of Fort Myers, passed away sadly on August 2, 2018 after a brief illness. Jim was born on October 22, 1949, the son of Albert and Alice (Ramsey) Coulombe. He graduated from Berlin High in 1967 and NHVTI in 1969 with an Associate’s Degree. Throughout his life, Jim wore many hats beginning as a machinist, and then project engineer in Nashua, NH. Later he owned and operated two businesses in Berlin, NH: Big Dad’s Trading Post and Dad’s Tackle Box. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a tile abstractor for the law office of Wayne Moynihan. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Donna (Corriveau) Coulombe. He was proudest of his daughter Sarah Charest, her husband Mark, and the lights of his life, his grandsons Ben and Tyler, all of Natick, MA. He came from a big, loving family including Jerry Coulombe and his wife Arleen, Sylvia Grandfield and her husband Jim, Louise Coulombe, Susan Blanchette and her husband Gerry, Rita Calkins and her husband Bruce, and Lise Cheney and her husband Shawn. He was Uncle Jimmy to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Jim was fortunate to have many friends throughout his lifetime, all with their own funny stories to share. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors, his camp in Errol, NH and spending time in Old Orchard Beach, ME. He loved corny jokes and could make anyone laugh at any time. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and he moved to Florida so he would never have to shovel snow again. Every Christmas, Jim and Donna would fill a cart of toys for Toys for Tots. If you would like to honor Jim’s memory this Christmas, please consider donating a toy to a needy child to brighten their Christmas morning. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date.

I have many good memories of Jimmy. Donna and Jimmy are godparents to our first born, Ryan. They visited us at Christmas time, Ryan was 6 months old. Jim was holding Ryan and we were taking movies. I told Jim to show Ryan the tree. He did by pulling a branch out of the artficual tree and giving the branch to Ryan. He had a sense of humor!! One more memory that only Donna will understand "go home"!! RIP my friend.
