James John Glennon

Jim is survived by his daughter, Renee (Rubatucci) Whitworth, and her husband, Stuart; his beloved grandchildren, Chloe and Luca; his sister, Kathy (Glennon) Pickering, and her husband, Jim Pickering; his brother, Thomas Mallon, and his wife, Mary Ann; his sister, Cheryl (Mallon) Fendell, and her husband, Mark Fendell; as well as his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jim Glennon lived a life worth remembering.

A devout Catholic, Jim was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, and his faith remained an important part of his life.

Jim grew up in Philadelphia, where from an early age he helped raise his siblings and learned what would become one of the guiding principles of his life: family always came first.

He attended Villanova University, graduating summa cum laude. Few people knew that about him—or that he had also graduated from high school with the same distinction. That was Jim: always a high achiever, but always humble about his accomplishments.

In 1989, Jim moved to Fort Myers with his new bride, Linda, and made Southwest Florida their home. For more than 15 years, he served Lee County through his leadership at Modern Services, where he was President. But to the many people who worked with him, he was much more than a title. He was a mentor, a leader, and a friend. He generously contributed to countless charities and volunteered his time and talents whenever someone needed his help.

Jim was also a longtime resident and member of Fiddlesticks Country Club. His golf game may never have reached a single-digit handicap, but that hardly mattered. What mattered was the camaraderie. His humor, his legendary pranks, his love of the game, and his affection for the people and community at Fiddlesticks will be remembered for years to come.

Perhaps Jim’s greatest gift was simply the way he made people feel. Anyone who had the privilege of spending time with Jimmy G seemed to walk away feeling a little better about themselves.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a mentor, a friend, and a man who gave generously of himself throughout his life.

James John Glennon lived a life well lived.

He will be deeply missed by many, lovingly remembered by all who knew him, and forever cherished by those who loved him most.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919, US, on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will take place at HODGES-KISER FUNERAL HOME, 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, Florida, on September 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
