James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He served around the world in South Korea, Japan, Germany, South East Asia, and Russia.
James had a dedicated career as a master optician owning many optical businesses in Indiana and Michigan.
James is predeceased by his parents James and Ruth (nee Zwiers) Kane and his siblings William Kane, Robert Kane, Nona Kane, Leon Kane, Linda Kane, and two infant siblings.
James loved his family dearly and is survived by his beloved wife Gaye (nee Hokkanen) Kane. His children David Kane, Michael Kane, Carrie Katonak, and Melissa Soli. James is also survived by his three grandchildren whom he cherished. Beloved brother of Kenneth Kane and Thomas Kane.
