Jeannine Annette Keller

Born on August 11, 1934, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Jean lived a life defined by faith, kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family. She was the beloved daughter of George Newman and Leoan Newman (Watson), both of whom preceded her in death.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emmett G. Keller; her grandson, Shaun; her granddaughter, Halyna; Halyna’s husband, Shone; and her siblings, George Newman Jr., Faith Bello, and Arthur Newman.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Keller, Trina Smith (Halton), Julia Kelly (Timothy), and Brian Keller (Lidia). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Timothy Shawn (Brooke), Christopher, Brandon, Joshua (Abi), Michael, and Matthew, along with 12 great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy. Jean is further survived by her brother, Harold Newman (Carol); her sister, Nancy Cropsey; and many other beloved relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Jean retired from General Electric after 25 years of dedicated service as a Quality Technician in Quality Control. She took great pride in her work and was respected for her attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Outside of her career, Jean was a gifted seamstress who lovingly made dresses for her daughters. She was also an accomplished crocheter whose beautiful dolls and afghans earned numerous awards. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. Most importantly, Jean was a woman of deep faith who faithfully served God throughout her life. Her love for her faith guided her actions and inspired those around her.

Jean was known for her warm and welcoming spirit. Her home was always open to family, friends, and travelers alike. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. Kind-hearted and gracious, she was one of the nicest people anyone could hope to meet. Family and friends looked up to her as an example of compassion, strength, and unwavering love. Her legacy of generosity, faith, and kindness will continue to live on through all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to her daughter, Trina, for serving as Jean’s devoted caregiver during the last 18 months of her life. Through her love, dedication, and compassionate care, Trina remained faithfully by her mother’s side until the very end.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 FL-82, Fort Myers, Florida 33913.

A Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Lehigh Acres Church of the Nazarene, 210 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres, Florida 33936, officiated by Bob Lockwood and Jose Orama. Interment will follow on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jean’s honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Though she will be deeply missed, Jean’s family finds comfort in knowing that her life was richly lived, her faith was steadfast, and her love will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
