

Jerry was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret McDonald, and by his cherished wife, Donna, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage.
Jerry is also survived by his children, Patrick (Karen) McDonald, Michael (Zsuzsi) McDonald, Kelly Coleman, Colleen Gipson, Robert (Karen) Oliver, and Julie (Gary) Abbott; and by his brother, John McDonald, his last remaining sibling among five brothers and sisters.
He was deeply loved by his nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished him dearly.
Jerry began his long and dedicated career with the Teamsters in 1973 at Local 299 and retired in 1995 as Recording Secretary of Local 247. Before that, he was elected Steward three times while working at Imperial Cartage. Throughout his 30 years as a proud Teamster, Jerry was respected for his commitment, leadership, and service to his fellow members.
Jerry especially enjoyed spending summers at Houghton Lake, Michigan, and winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where he created many treasured memories with family and friends.
