She was born in Miami-Dade County, Florida, on January 4, 1943, and her life was marked by service, devotion, and a deep love for her family.
JoAnn married the love of her life, Oliver F. Caraway, on October 9, 1959. Their marriage was a partnership in every sense—rooted in commitment, strengthened by faith, and blessed with children, grandchildren, and a lifetime of shared work and memories. Oliver preceded her in death on September 26, 2007.
A natural caregiver, JoAnn built her career in nursing, where her gentle spirit and steady presence touched countless lives. She also worked side-by-side with her husband in the family business, serving faithfully as the office secretary and keeping the heart of the operation running with grace and precision.
Family was the center of JoAnn’s world. She had a true passion for her loved ones and poured her energy into making sure they felt supported, welcomed, and deeply loved.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Don, Danny, Daryl, and Doug Caraway; as well as 7 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of warmth and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam (passed away in 1998), and her sister Joan Bohm, and is further remembered by her brother Ronnie Biggs.
Her memory is a blessing, her love a legacy, and the story of her life a quiet testament to faith, family, and devotion.
