John graduated from Mankato State College and is a US Army veteran. He married June Newman on November 19, 1998 in Minneapolis. He worked for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 2012.
John is survived by his wife, June; his stepson, Anthony Newman; his parents: John and Bette; his sister, Michelle Swanson; his brother, Michael (Paula) McDonald and his brothers at Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Mankato State College.
Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Arrangements handled by Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park (239) 334-4880.’
