John Thomas Nachazel

John T. Nachazel passed away December 29, 2025. He was born June 29, 1958 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Thomas W Nachazel and Bernadette M Nachazel (nee Slaven). John graduated from George Washington University. He received his MBA from Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, Ct.

Upon graduation John worked for the National Park Service in Washington D. C. where he developed special tours though Arlington National Cemetery. Later he joined his father as a Tax Accountant in the family firm in Stamford, Connecticut. In 2000, he joined Thomas Associates Tax Service in Fort Myers, Florida eventually becoming President of the firm. John retired in 2023 after 42 years of service.

John is survived by his father, Thomas of Fort Myers, FL; his brothers James P Nachazel (Amy) of Roanoke, VA; Edward A Nachazel (Susan) of Stamford, CT and Robert J Nachazel (Susan) of Roswell, GA and many nieces and nephews.

John was an active member of Resurrection Parish in Fort Myers. He was an enthusiastic biker and enjoyed the beach and travel. John was a man of deep faith and his knowledge of history and politics could only be surpassed by his keen wit and the love of the arts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John T. Nachazel Endowed Scholarship Fund at Ave Maria University, 5050 Ave Maria Blvd, Ave Maria, FL 34142.

A visitation will be held at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, located at 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL, 33919, on January 11, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at the Church of The Resurrection, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr, Fort Myers, Florida, 33919, on January 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A graveside service will follow at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL, 33913, on January 12, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
