He was born on March 1, 1936, in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal. Joseph built a life grounded in hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He spent 29 years as a truck driver with Roadway Express, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for those he loved.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Fernandes; his children, Donna Avilla and Michael Fernandes; and his cherished grandson, Jeremy Fernandes. He is also survived by his sisters, Fernanda Fernandes and Mary Wilson.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to family, and the steady presence he provided to those around him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he held dear.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
