Judith Cranford McInnes, 74 of Fort Myers, Florida, passed from this life on February 22, 2026, at Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Judi was born in Cambridge, MA and grew up in Melrose, MA. She was the third of the seven children of Edwin and Eileen Cranford and loved her large family and all the wonderful memories of her childhood. Her fondest memories were during the years she spent raising her son.
After graduating from Melrose High School in 1969, Judi embarked on a succession of various jobs including retail sales, meat department in a grocery store, secretarial work, real estate agent, galley mate for a fishing fleet out of Gloucester, MA and Key West, FL, group sales for a Key West resort and finally, processing donations at a thrift shop in Lehigh Acres. Judi loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need. Her choice of jobs throughout the years demonstrated her kind heart. Whether waiting on customers, helping someone bait a fishhook, cutting up a side of beef, finding the perfect dream home for a client, or helping to plan special events at the hotel, Judi applied her creative, organizational, and marketing skills in a caring manner.
Judi was preceded in death by her former husband, John R. Melchionno, her second husband, Robert A. McInnes, and her life partner, Michael W. Harland. Mother of John Anthony McInnes and his wife, Evalyn. Grandmother of Asher, Joseph, Noah, Sam, Alayna, Kaylee Jade, Evianna, and Declan. Great-grandmother of Winter, Eden, Melania and Karter.
Judi had many pets over the years, treating them all like the valuable family members they were.
Judi is survived by her son, John Anthony McInnes and his family of Texas as well as Judi’s siblings: Susan Furr of North Carolina, Douglas and Joyce Cranford of Massachusetts, Richard Cranford and Laura Jennings-Cranford of Massachusetts, Elaine and Richard Parsons of Maine, Laura and Martin Finigian of North Carolina and Jeffrey and Cheryl Cranford of Massachusetts; along with many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Judi’s love of the ocean, cremation has taken place, and her cremains are being placed at the Neptune Memorial Reef in Florida. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the kind employees at Hope Hospice and Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their loving care of Judi as she dealt with dementia and breast cancer.
