
Kenneth (Ken to his friends) MacDougall Lobdell, 76 passed away March 26, 2016 at Shell Point Hospice House in Fort Myers, FL. He was born September 22, 1939 in Norwalk, CT to the late Lucius and Muriel Lobdell.
Ken grew up in Norwalk, Ct. He graduated from Norwalk High School and went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio.
After graduating he settled and raised his family in Tolland, CT. He worked in the computer field at The Hartford and The Travelers Insurance Companies before starting his own business as a home builder. He moved to Fort Myers, FL in 1986 where he earned his Florida General Contractors license and continued to build homes. After retiring from the building business he worked for several years at U.S. Home in customer care and was highly respected for his work.
Ken was a member of the town of Tolland volunteer fire department. He coached youth hockey (and encouraged all three of his children to play). He enjoyed seeing the country in his RV with Kathi. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and being in nature. Ken made friends everywhere and had a great sense of humor.
He is remembered with love by his dearly loved friend and partner Kathi Anderson of Fort Myers, FL, his children Marc (Micheline) and Beth (Husam) of Fort Myers, Matt (Rachel) and granddaughter Anastasia of Lakeland, FL and the mother of his children Sue Lobdell of Lakeland, FL.
There will be a private service with his immediate family. Arrangements under the direction of Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, Fort Myers, FL.
