

With broken hearts we announce the death of our dad, Larry Bogard. A life-long resident of Fort Myers (Buckingham) was born at home on May 5th, 1943 in a family cabin in Dover Tennessee. He came to Fort Myers, Florida when he was just 10 years old. Our father was a hard-working man, working first in terrazzo flooring for Sunray Terrazzo prior to owning and operation Larry Bogard Well Drilling. As a well driller, he drilled large water wells for Farmers until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed many things in his life including hunting in the Florida Everglades, River Ranch and hunting lease in Georgia. He loved to fish and spent many hours on the water in Matlacha, Bokeelia, Pine Island, Lake Okeechobee, and the Florida Keys. In the last 5 years he wasn't able to enjoy his hobbies due to many illnesses, succumbing to these on February 26, 2021. Larry is survived by his children Larry (Sherry) Gene Bogard Jr. of Labelle, Laurie (Mike) J. Bogard-Peak of Buckingham. He is survived by his grandchildren, Julie Ann Bogard, Brad Gene Bogard, and Alexis Joy Bogard. Larry was predeceased by his wif eof 41 years, Susan Sapp Bogard. Larry is survived by his Sister Lillie (Walt) Williams and Diane Davis, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Horace Bogard, and his loving mother Ina Bogard Brooks, Brother Donnie Deen Bogard Sr., and sisters, Marshalene Brashear, Georgie Lawson and Miral douglas. Larry also wanted to recognize his long time friend and partner in crime, Douglas (Georgette) N. Clark. A Viewing will be held on March 9th from 4-8PM. At Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. The interment will be private. A Celebration of Life has been planned for Saturday, March 13, 2021 beginning at 1PM with the service at 1:30PM Pastor Frank Dana Cowboy Church Ministries officiating: there will be plenty of time afterwards for fellowship. Due to COVID-19 only water and soda will be provided. The Celebration of Life will be held at the Whaley Hall on the Lee Civic Center grounds, entry can be made at Gate 2 off of Old Bayshore Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Cowboy Church Ministries, 1330 Sears Road, Labelle, Florida 33935, in care of Pastor Frank & Cindy Dana. "The Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Rest in Peace Dad we will see you and mom again one day. We love you & miss you both very much.
