Born April 5, 1945, to Areeta Gala and Jessie Hawkins. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Matthews, daughter Joyce Spangler (Randy), son Gerald Bates (Pam), son Randy Bates. She also leaves 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Areeta Gala and father John Gala, daughter Carol Ann Bates, brothers Richard Stiles and Jimmy Green.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19th at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
