

Lisa was born March 21, 1960, in Beijing, China, to Jiaju Chen and Lanfang Dai. She was raised in Beijing and received a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from Beijing Forestry University in 1984. Lisa worked as research analyst for Beijing Institute of Landscape Architecture until 1986.
In 1989, she graduated with a Master's of Science in Horticulture from Texas A&M University. Lisa became a horticultural scientist and worked at Agracetus and W.R. Grace from 1991-1995. Lisa lived for several years in Tupelo, Mississippi with her husband Kent, who was employed by Mississippi State University. The couple moved to Fort Myers in 2004 where they both worked at the University of Florida, she at the research center and he as an assistant professor.
Lisa loved, enjoyed, and respected the natural world, and was a member of the American Society for Horticultural Sciences.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Kent. She is survived by her brother Lipei, his wife Tracy, and their two daughters, Jacqueline and Amy.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 SR Fort Myers, Florida on Sunday, December 31st from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
