Lois Elaine Faber, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 87. She bravely faced a six-year journey with progressive dementia before a sudden onset of pneumonia.
Born on June 3, 1937, in Sussex, New Jersey, Lois was the cherished daughter of Lester and Alice (Hurlburt) Struble. She is preceded in passing by her brother, Robert, and her loving husband, Wallace “Wally” George Faber, who she shared a beautiful life with until his passing in January 2022.
Lois dedicated her early years to caring for others as a maternity nurse at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. On July 1, 1961, she married Wally in Sussex, NJ, and together they built a loving home, raising their three sons before relocating to Florida in 1977. She found joy in simple pleasures—bowling, gardening, and performing in her church’s handbell choir. Her love for children guided her career, first at a Montessori Early Learning Center and later through her own family childcare business at the Faber residence in the Villas. For countless children and families, she was a source of warmth, kindness and unwavering care.
Lois leaves behind her three devoted sons, Randy (Jennifer), Steve and Chris, along with four treasured grandchildren, Jeremy, Callie, Caden and Kinley, who will forever carry her love and wisdom in their hearts.
A private family celebration of her life will be held in the near future. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and photos online, contributing to a lasting tribute to Lois’s life. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kiserfh.com for the Faber family.
