June 16, 1930 – May 8, 2025
With deep love and sorrow, the family of Lucy (DeFilippis) Fasolo announces her peaceful passing on May 8, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on June 16, 1930, in Lenola (Latina) Italy, she was the beloved daughter of Sirio and Raffaela (Quinto) DeFilippis.
Lucy met her husband, William Fasolo, while serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Europe. They met, fell in love and were married in her hometown of Lenola shortly after meeting. In 1956, Lucy left her native country and came to America, where she and William built a life together in Bristol, CT and raised their family with strong values, faith, and love. In 2023, Lucy moved to Estero, FL to be closer to her son and spend her remaining years.
Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Fasolo; her dear son, Roland Fasolo; and her brothers Marino, Luigi, Alessandro, and Rolando DeFilippis.
She is survived by her loving son, Thomas (Doreen) Fasolo of Estero, FL; and her cherished grandchildren: Ashley (Andrew) Smith of Unionville, CT; Addison (Sarah) Fasolo of Bristol, CT; and Andrew (Leah) Fasolo of Fort Myers, FL. She was the proud and adoring great-grandmother of Weston, Sienna, Amelia, Delaney, and Maren, who were the light of her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her special sister-in-law, Marina DeFilippis, and by several nieces and nephews whom she held dear.
Affectionately known as “Nonna” to so many, Lucy was the heart of her family. Her home was a place of warmth, especially on Sundays, when she joyfully cooked dinner for those she loved most. She was known for her incredible meals, her green thumb, and her generous spirit often sharing the fruits of her garden with friends and neighbors.
A devout Catholic, Lucy’s faith guided her throughout her life. She rarely missed a Sunday Mass until she was no longer able to attend. Her strength, kindness, and love for family will forever be remembered.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at American House at Coconut Point, Estero, FL for the care they provided and for always making Lucy feel special.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby Street, Bristol, CT. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Avon, CT.
