

Margie Lynn Kipping, lovingly known as “Margie,” passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 71. She was born on October 4, 1954, in Huntington, West Virginia, and throughout her life brought warmth, kindness, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Margie was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, aunt, and friend whose beautiful smile and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who met her. She had a heart full of compassion and a way of making people feel welcomed and loved. Her family and friends will forever remember her as one of the kindest people they had ever known.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Kipping; her daughter, Michelle Kipping-Barr and her husband Jonathan Barr; her sisters, Vicki Kosienski and Kristine Collins; her special cousin, Donnie Chapman; her sister-in-law, Julie Rottman; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her faithful German Shepherd, Sasha.
Margie was preceded in death by her son, John Anthony Kipping III; her parents, Ansel Guy Simpson and Arlene Huddleston; and her brother, Guy Simpson.
Margie had a remarkable creative spirit and was an avid crafter with an incredible artistic eye. She was especially talented in sculpting and creating beautiful wreaths that reflected her creativity and passion. She also loved spending time at the beach and enjoyed cruising around in her Corvette, embracing life’s simple joys and adventures.
Her love, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed but forever treasured in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Service details will be announced soon. Margie will be flown to Ohio, where a funeral service will be held at Hall Funeral Home, followed by burial at Rome-Proctorville Cemetery. No services will take place in Florida.
Arrangements are being handled by Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park and Hall Funeral Home.
