Mary Jo Teter, age 83, of Punta Gorda, passed away on February 12, 2021. Loving mother of Mark Stancel, Greg Stancel, and Beverly (Billy) Cass. Loving Grandmother of Brandon Mays, Andrea Burford, Courtney Mays, Shea (Brian) Hilliard, Ira Matthew Stancel, and Nicole Stancel. Beloved great grandmother of Jordyn and Julia Mays, Brandon Mays II, Olivia Mays, Levi Mays, Landon Burford, Mia Burford, Isabelle Hilliard, Reed, Hilliard, Isla Hillard. Cherished sister of Betty Rivers and David (Kay) Chapman. Mary Jo will be missed by her nieces and nephews Barbara Noel, Pete Noel, Lori Rivers, Chris Rivers, Julia Spiller, Calinda Chapman, and Lisa Fulton. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband Harold Horne, and parents Ira Teter and Mary Chapman, sisters Julia Noel and Jerry McGrail, her nieces Mary Burnley and Tracy Rivers. Mary Jo was in LPN nursing school in her early years, but she always said that being a mom was the most important role in her life.
