Nancy M. Montgomery RN, educator and former social worker passed away suddenly at Gulf Coast Medical Center on September 2nd. She was the only daughter of Frank J. and Sue Falcone of West Bangor, PA. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey of Fort Myers, FL, two sons, Ryan Hess of Albuquerque, NM and Frank Montgomery of Arlington, VA, a Daughter-in-law, Krista Bonfantine and Granddaughter, Emma Hess.
A graduate of Pen Argyl high school in 1968, Mrs. Montgomery received a BA in Sociology/Psychology from East Stroudsburg University in 1971 and was awarded an RN by Northampton Community College in 1985.
She was employed by Northampton County as a social worker, working for the children’s bureau and, later, senior services. After obtaining her RN, she served as a nurse at Northampton Medical Center, Saint Lukes Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital and the INNOVA (Virginia) hospital system as a cardiac nurse. After retiring to Florida, she volunteered at the Naples Hospital System and The Lee County Hospital System. In addition, she served several years volunteering with the Guardian Ad Litem Program in Lee County. She also spent several years teaching nursing with Heritage.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church and played the organ in Pen Argyl, PA for several years.
A private family service will be held on Monday, September 18th.
