A little about Nick … he was of Italian descent and enjoyed many traditions, especially the food of his culture. His nickname was ‘Nicky’ and he was always known as the teaser or jokester of his family. As told by his older brothers, he was that typical annoying little brother always teasing and playing jokes on everyone.
Nick attended East Side High School in Newark, NJ. He was a member of the New Jersey Association Athletic Union where he was an Amateur Boxer. He was awarded many honors and titles to include the Golden Gloves metal for his weight division. After graduating high school, he was an honorable member and served active duty in the United States Army where he served our country. He was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Nick, with his wife Dianne, resided in Kenilworth, NJ for 26 years where they raised their family. He served a long and loyal career performing various accounting functions for Large Trucking Companies until he retired and moved with his wife Dianne to Fort Myers, Florida.
He has always shown his pride and love for his four grandchildren. Dominick, now married to wife Jessie, Cassidy, now married to husband Andon Burns, Christopher, Carly, and recently welcomed his first great granddaughter, Amelia Troiano. He had been a strong presence in their growing years celebrating all milestones and always attending sporting events. He also enjoyed spending time with his latter wife, Joy, in retirement taking walks, visiting family and friends, and going out to restaurant dining.
Nick loved sports, his favorite being boxing, but also a big fan of football and baseball. In his younger days, he was an avid runner completing several track miles daily. He also played on various recreation baseball teams. He had always taken extreme care of his well-being. In his more senior years, he enjoyed playing golf in his leisure time. He was a devout Christian who loved and served the Lord.
Nick had many accomplishments and things to be proud of in his life. He was a man of honor and integrity that has served his country and his family. He had strong core values and was loved and respected by many. He was sweet natured, giving, laid back, humble and a loving man who still liked to tease and use his sense of humor to make himself and others laugh. He will be missed dearly by all but never be forgotten.
