Butch was a master mechanic who loved working on vehicles and tinkering with just about anything. For those who knew him well, he loved pulling pranks on them and was always the instigator. He enjoyed NASCAR, campfires, boating and country music but his favorite thing to do was spending quality time with his friends and family.
Butch is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; his daughters: Sadie Heckel, Alivia Heckel, Emma (Andres) Heckel France and Maggie Heckel; grandchildren: Wesley, Ella, Elijah, Mateo and Atlas; brother and sisters: Susan (Max) Harrelle, Nathan (Kelly) Heckel and Amy (Mike) Dale; his step-mother, Peggy Heckel; his closest friends, Hank and Stoney and many additional loving family, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Norman Heckel, Sr.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers on Wednesday, February 12th from 1:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 pm. Interment will be private.
