Obituary of Patricia Mary Amata
IN THE CARE OF

Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park

Patricia Mary Amata, 84, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home after a brave 3½-year battle with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Patricia was born on January 27, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James and Agnes Lawson, who instilled in her a lifelong love of learning, creativity, and family.

Patricia married her beloved husband, Charles D. Amata, and together they shared 64 years of unwavering devotion. Their marriage was a partnership built on loyalty, humor, and deep affection.

Patricia was the proud mother of three sons: Charles, Richard, and Timothy, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles, who remained faithfully by her side throughout her illness.

Patricia lived a life marked by quiet strength and gentle joy. She loved to draw, often expressing her creativity through her artwork. Word puzzles were her daily ritual, reflecting her sharp mind and curiosity. She enjoyed discussing current news and events, always eager to understand the world around her.

Before her illness, Patricia found great happiness in traveling and spending time with her family. These moments-filled with laughter, discovery, and connection-became treasured memories for all who shared them.

Patricia's resilience, kindness, and loving spirit touched everyone who knew her. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.

She will be missed by all.In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The American Cancer Society.
