Peggy Roley, born in the heart of Illinois on a grain and dairy farm. One of five children, along with three half-brothers and a half-sister, Peggy grew up in a close-knit farming family.
She attended country schools before being bused to Sullivan High School, where she graduated before marrying the love of her life, Bill Roley. Shortly after, Bill was called into service with the Illinois National Guard 44th Infantry Division, leading them to California and later Washington State. During this time, Peggy worked in Civil Service positions in both states, contributing to the war effort and supporting their growing life together.
Upon returning to Sullivan, Illinois, Bill established a successful real estate business, where Peggy played an integral role as both secretary and real estate sales associate. Peggy was a registered real estate salesperson until 1985. Together, they developed several neighborhoods, including Sunrise, Sunset, Eastview, and the Roley-Hall Estates. While Peggy was actively involved in these endeavors, her primary joy was raising their two beloved children, Brad and Kim. In addition to family life, Peggy found great pleasure in golf, bowling, sewing, and reading and was an active member of the Moultrie County Home Extension.

She later became a dedicated member of the Sullivan First Christian Church, serving as a Deacon and contributing to the church community in countless ways. In later years, she became an Elder at FMCC while continuing to support her church family in Sullivan.
In retirement, Peggy and Bill spent winters in Florida, eventually making it their permanent home. They cherished their time on Sanibel Island, appreciating the beauty of the Gulf, its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and the many dear friendships formed along the way. In 1996, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land deepened Peggy’s faith, as she walked where Jesus once walked and placed her hands in the waters of the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea.
Bill and Peggy shared nearly 50 wonderful years together before his passing in 1999. She was later preceded in death by their beloved daughter, Kim, in 2004, and her dear son, Brad, who passed away in 2020. She is survived by her grandchildren Brandon, Sean, and Tyler, and great-granddaughters Jaylee and Zayda.
