Ralph Howard Rasmussen

Ralph Howard Rasmussen, 94, of Cape Coral, passed away on March 14, 2016. Ralph was born on July 30, 1921 in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Dave and Anna (Davidsen) Rasmussen. He married Audrey Bartel on November 22, 1947.

A World War II veteran, he served 2 years overseas in the 518th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Co., European Theater of Operations. Ralph retired from AMC/Chrysler Corp after 26 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the American Legion and Moose International. Ralph dearly loved his family, gardening, playing cards and big band music.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Audrey; sons, Eric (Linda) and James (Julie) Rasmussen; daughter, Laurie (Donald III) Waddell; grandchildren, Michael (Callie), Derek and Brock Rasmussen; Donald IV, Audra and Jenna Waddell; great grandchild, Kaylen Rasmussen and brother-in-law, William (Molly) Bartel.

Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 11:00 AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2691 NE Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33909. Memorial gifts may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in memory of Ralph.
