Born and raised in Beverly, MA, he was the son of Leonidas and Alice Tremblay and a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and United Shoe Machinery Co. Trade School.
A devoted family man, Raymond enjoyed building, creating, traveling, and golf. An engineer by trade, he developed several patents including the pop rivet gun, the staple gun, and the glue gun while working for United Shoe Machinery in Whitman, Massachusetts. He was an active communicant of Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church and St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. He was socially active in the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 70 years, Louise, his children, Julie Hall and her husband, Richard, of Lehigh Acres, FL, Guy and Roberta Tremblay of Rincon, GA, and Jerome and Maryann Tremblay of Centerville, Massachusetts. In addition, he leaves behind seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; sibling Armand Tremblay and the late J. Jacques Tremblay, Anna Tremblay, Clement Tremblay, Cecile (Tremblay) Nickola, and Peter Tremblay. He will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Services will be private at Hodges Funeral Home, Lee Memorial Park where he will be interred.
