Richard “Dick” Johnson, 87, of Immokalee passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Naples. He was born in Flushing, NY on May 18, 1930. Dick is the husband of Carolyn Joyce Johnson, father of Rick and Kevin, grandfather to 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. He is also survived by one sister, Madeline Gallops as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: E.L. “Johnny” Johnson and William Ray Johnson.
Dick served in the US Army from May 1951 to May 1953. After his discharge he relocated to Immokalee and started farming. He was involved in many agriculture entities including vegetable farming, packing houses, cattle ranching and currently owns Sunniland Groves with his two sons.
Dick will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers on Friday, April 27 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm.
