

Dick was born on August 31,1946 in Fairbury, Il, son of Joseph Anton “Tony” Weller and Mary Helen Kratz Weller of Chatsworth. He married Armella Eshleman on October 23, 1971.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brothers, John Weller, Paul Weller and Steve Weller. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Armella Weller of Chatsworth Il/Ft Myer Fl; daughter Kim (Weller) Russell of Mattoon Il, daughter Lori Lambert (Howie) Dillman of Sidney Il; granddaughter Megan Russell; granddaughter Nicole Dillman (Brandon) Hamilton; grandson Justin (Rylee) Dillman; great-granddaughter Collins Hamilton and great-grandson Ryder Sanchez; sister Cathy (Bruce) Williams of Newcastle, WA and Philip (Debbie) Weller of Dwight Il; along with many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Chatsworth, Dick was a farmer his entire life. When he wasn’t farming Dick worked at Nichols Homeshield in Chatsworth where he retired after 30 years. After retiring he moved to the family farm to work full-time on his farm and the Weller family farm. After retiring again, he and Armella hit the open road in their RV and traveled the US countryside, Canada and Europe.
Dick was an active member of the communities he lived in. Dick was a member of the Chatsworth Volunteer Fire Department and later the Chatsworth Fire Department Trustee. Dick was a licensed Real Estate agent and hauled grain for local farmers during the winter seasons. Dick was the Germanville Township Supervisor for many years.
Dick was a devoted farmer and enjoyed all aspects of the practice. Dick also enjoyed reading and learning new things, camping, boating and traveling. Dick’s favorite past time was spent with his grandkids. He taught them how to drive the tractor, play in the grain bins, create slides in the chicken coop and he created scavenger hunts for them. He loved to read to them, watch animal videos and cartoons. In his later years, Dick picked up the sport of golf. Dick not only loved to play golf but had an incredible knack for finding lost balls. Dick would give a ‘thumbs up’ on the wonderful life he had. Dick will be remembered for his genuine smile, contagious laugh, mischievous storytelling and willingness to help his friends and family.
A Celebration of life will be held for family and friends in spring of 2026 in his hometown of Chatsworth.
