Born in Binghamton, New York, on December 21, 1949, Rick was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and deep compassion for others. On December 12, 1976, he married the love of his life, Jane, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of devotion, laughter, and beautiful memories.
Rick was a dedicated professional, spending 33 years of his career at Florida Power & Light. Outside of work, his true passion was found in his faith, family, and community. As an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Rick found immense joy in teaching Sunday School, mentoring others, and serving his church family as a deacon. His legacy of faith and selflessness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Jane Savige; his three daughters, Jennifer Harrison, Erica Childers, and Amanda Sanford (Charlie) and his six cherished grandchildren, Aaron, Quintin, Zachary, Madelynn, Brycen, and Carcen. Rick also leaves behind his sisters, Darleen Morris, Bonnie Tillman, and Nancy Flock. He was preceded in death by his parents Manley and Mary Jane Savige and brothers-in-law, Dave Morris, Jim Tillman, and Kevin Flock.
Rick’s gentle spirit and compassionate heart are already greatly missed, but his memory lives on in the countless lives he touched. His family will always cherish the memory of a man who loved his Lord, adored his family, and was deeply proud to be an American.
A patriotic service celebrating Rick's life and faith will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Crossroads Baptist Church 10721 Palm Beach Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33905. Visitation will be held prior at 10:30 AM.
