

Robert (Bob) Alan Schneider of Fort Myers and formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was 82 years old.
Bob was born on November 22, 1933, the son of Margery (Collins) and Albert Schneider in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1952, earned a Bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He is a veteran of the Korean War.
Bob spent most of his career at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio as a CPA/Chief Budget Analyst. He also spent a year in Reston, Virginia with NASA in charge of the budget for the International Space Station, the largest structure that humans have ever put into space which serves as a stepping-stone for further space exploration.
Bob also enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and going on cruises with his wife Peggy, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed attending sporting events and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He was a smart, honest, kind and generous person with a wry sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Margaret “Peggy” (Dagostino) Schneider, his children Gretchen (Craig) Horstman, Mark (Casey) Schneider, Robert Schneider (deceased), William Schneider, Beth (Bob) Strauss and Anne Schneider, his grandchildren Zachary, Kilian and Claire Horstman, Robert, Jackie, Payton, Reagan and Markie Schneider, Nikki, Rory and Mia Strauss and Michael Gallagher, great grandchildren Liam Horstman and Lillian Bree and Annabelle Schneider, and siblings Donald (Imelda) Schneider, Joan Borchart, Tom Schneider and Jim Schneider.
Bob was preceded in death by a grandson, Eoin Gallagher.
A mass and funeral service will be held at the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord in Fort Myers, and a memorial service will be held in Cleveland. Details are forthcoming and will be shared with family and friends when available.
