Ruben Harvey Gonzalez

Ruben Harvey Gonzalez, aged 36, of Immokalee, FL, passed away on November 15, 2024, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on February 10, 1988, in Naples, FL, Ruben was the beloved son of Ruben Gonzalez Rodriguez and Beatriz Paula (McDowell) Gonzalez. A 2006 graduate of Immokalee High School, Ruben was known for his skills as a mechanic and welder, and his passion for designing and installing custom stereo boxes and audio equipment starting at a young age.

Ruben was a dedicated member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, working as a technician, and also contributed to his father's agriculture business. He was a man who loved intellectual challenges and never shied away from solving obstacles.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa Rodriguez, and children, Ruben Leo Gonzalez, Jazmine Isabel Gonzalez, and Gianna Gonzalez. He is also survived by his parents, sisters Serina Gonzalez, Michelle (Julio) Delgado, and Noemy Gonzalez (fiancé: Jason Tidwell), and his nieces and nephews, Julius, Gabby Lynn, Juliet, Juliana, Jazlynn, and Kelvin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Gonzalez, and his grandparents, Palmer Harvey McDowell, Maria (Hernandez) McDowell, Leonila Rodriguez, and Amadeo Gonzalez.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church 207 S. 9th Street Immokalee, Florida Friday, November 29th at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida on Friday, November 29th from 11:30 to 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ruben will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will cherish his memory forever.
