Sandra Lee Balonis

Sandra Reidy Herbert Balonis, age 84, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Horseheads, NY passed away on June 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born January 23,1940 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Blanche Reidy. Sandra is preceded in death by her first husband Paul Herbert, Sr., her second husband, John Balonis and her 3 brothers: Jack, Don and Joe Reidy.

Sandra enjoyed camping and going to the Elks club. As long as family and friends were there she enjoyed her time. If she wasn’t there she could be found searching for shells at the beach. Sandy loved her family and treasured her time spent together.

Surviving are her children: sons, Paul (Eileen) Herbert of Elmira, NY, Mark Herbert of Elmira, NY and daughter, Lisa (Tim) Zumwalt of Fort Myers, FL along with her grandchildren: Paul (Daisy) Bolt of Port Charlotte, FL, Megan (Cherkee) Herbert of Horseheads, NY, Alexis Herbert of Elmira, NY and Blake Zumwalt of Fort Myers, FL; her sisters-in-law: Sharon and Sundae Reidy, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL on Friday, July 5th from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3:00. Interment will be private.
