Shirley Atkison Foliart, age 95, of Fort Myers, FL passed away on March 18, 2026. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 20, 1930 to Clarence Wills and Jennie Sarver Atkison. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Mervyn Foliart; and her brother, Robert L. Atkison.
Shirley and George were married on August 4, 1951 and spent 65 years devoted as husband and wife. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Pamela & Joseph Bender; granddaughter and grandson in law, Lindsey & Nathan McKelvy; and great-grandson, Benjamin McKelvy.
Shirley (or “Gigi” to many) will be remembered for her quick wit, loving heart, honest perspective and feisty spirit. We find comfort knowing she is in Heaven and reunited with George, her brother and parents, whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21st at Noon at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida.
