She later was placed in a Catholic orphanage called Mount Loretto in Staten Island, NY. It was there that she met her husband of 51 years Jesus Casiano. Together they would have three beautiful children Jay, Irene, and Jason Casiano. They lived most of their adult life in New York and Florida where they raised their children. In 1997 they relocated to Waterbury Connecticut to be closer to their youngest son Jason Casiano. It was there Sonia and her husband would spend the remaining 23 years of her life.
She graduated from Saint Elizabeth High School at Mount Loretto an all girls school. Professionally she continued on into the medical field where she would receive certifications in Behavioral Technician Specialist, Patient Care Technician, and Pharmacy Technician. She also obtain many Awards and Accolade‘s from her job of 20 years at Community Residences Inc. Sonia was the Mentally Handicap Assistant Manager for the Direct Service Providers. She loved her job and was dedicated until the end of her life.
Sonya loved the beach, taking vacations and playing the penny slots.
To her family and friends she was always selfless, putting other people’s needs before her own.
Her son would say she was the most loving and caring person of his life.
To her grandchildren she was there “HONEY” a beautiful woman with a heart of gold, who always had the best intentions and made them feel safe and protected.
To her husband she was the air he breathed, life in its purest form. If you had an an opportunity to be graced by her presence consider yourself blessed.

Sonia is survived by a devoted husband Jesus Casiano of 51 years; Children Jay Casiano (Loretta) of Southington, CT and Jason Casiano of Cheshire, CT. Four sisters Elizabeth Underwood (Jimmy) Of Lehigh Acres, FL; Irene Perez (Raymond) of South Plainfield, NJ; Beatrice Perez (Andre) Fords, NJ; Celene Rosado of Jersey City, NJ. Two brothers John Rosado (Maggie) of Staten Island, NY; Raphael Rosado (Loida) Fort Myers, FL. Seven grandchildren Bianca Madden (Dennis), Desirae Casiano, Selena Casiano of CT. Lamar McDonald, Jasmine Figgers of Fort Myers, FL. Allie Casiano Salmons of Ohio. Michelle Casiano Hosher of MO. Three great- grandchildren Silas Madden of CT, Audrielle Deimling of Ohio and Scarlett Nicolato- McDonald of FL. A goddaughter LyMarie Rodriguez; A special niece Germaine Rosado-Santiago as well as aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
