Susan K. Marchand

Susan Kathryn Marchand, 98, of Cape Coral and formerly of North Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully January 28, 2023. She was born November 22, 1924 in Canton, Ohio. Susan left Canton, Ohio in November 1946 to travel to Anchorage, Alaska to join Ralph who previously left Canton for a job opportunity. They were married in 1946 in Anchorage. After having their five children they moved back to Canton, Ohio in June 1963. In 1977 they retired and moved to Fort Myers, Florida. There Susan volunteered at Cape Coral Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, sewing baby quilts for family and friends and painting Christmas cards in watercolor. She also loved hosting her family on holidays and birthdays. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, sister, Ann Clayton and brother, John Sekely. She is survived by her children: Lorraine (John) Dauenheimer, Douglas (Babs), Ann Marie Dailey, Mary Barr and Joan; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am.
