Tamika Edlyne Michel

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tamika Edlyne Michel, who departed this world on February 21, 2025, at the age of 39. A beloved daughter, sister, fiancée, aunt, and friend, Tamika’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones will be cherished forever.

Born on October 6, 1985, Tamika was the beloved daughter of Delius and Marie Michel. She was a devoted sister to Rich Destin, Guerdith Fertil, Eulora Michel, Nazimbe Michel, and Kathleen Michel. She was also a loving and proud aunt to her nieces and nephews: Micah Fertil, Malachi Fertil, Micayla Fertil, Clarissa Destin, Olivia Michel, Sophia Michel, Mia Fertil, and Janai Howard.

Tamika was engaged to the love of her life, Tolulope Aiyetiwa, and was looking forward to a future filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Her presence brought joy to all who knew her, and her loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family and friends.

Tamika’s compassionate heart and commitment to service led her to pursue a career in nursing, and she achieved her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2023. Her dedication to caring for others was evident in both her professional and personal life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness.

Beyond her devotion to family and her career, Tamika had an immense love for animals, especially the family doodles, Teddy, Barkley, and Poodle Pumpkin. She found comfort and companionship in their unconditional love and was a passionate advocate for the well-being of all animals.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

In honor of Tamika’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to Eulora Michel.

Though Tamika’s time with us was far too short, the love she shared and the lives she touched will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the same love and light she brought into this world.
