
Thelma J. Wright-Smith, 81, of Fort Myers, formerly of Waterford, Michigan passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. Loving wife of the late Kenny; dear mother of Lynn (Lorena) Wright and Dale (Lori) Wright; stepmother of Larry (Linda) Bridgesmith, Patty (Bob) Davey, Barbie (Jeff) Moon and Jodi Smith; grandmother of Brionne (Chris), Jessica, Rebecca, Lance, Lara, Kristin, Shanan, Jason, Megan, Melissa, Jacob and Jeremy; great grandmother of many; sister of Dorothy (Howard) Holeman. Thelma was a woman before her time, with a lifetime of various careers. Service to her community and others was important. As the first female exalted ruler of the Elks in Florida and director of the D.A.R.E. program, Thelma was an important part of servicing her community. It is important to know that top of Thelma’s list was the precious time spent with her family. Her smiling face will be missed by not only family, but by friends and her community. A graveside service will be held at 10 am Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 am on January 31st at the Elks Lodge 2163 Twin Brooks Road North Fort Myers, FL 33917.
