Vernella Ella Stewart was born on November 9, 1955 in Clinton.

North Carolina to James and Daisy Royal. The family relocated to Fort Myers, Florida in 1957.

Vernella, affectionately known as "Vernell" or "Vern," was a loving mother to her four beautiful children, she also adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a caring Auntie to her nieces and nephews.

Vernella retired from Desoto County School System and relocated buck home to Fort Myers, Florida.

Vernella was a very private person and always wanted things in order nice and neat.

Verella joined Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church in 2023, She was a devoted member and enjoyed attending Sunday school and church on Sunday mornings.

Vernella Royal Stewart departed this life on March 20, 2026 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Vernella was preceded in death by her parents. James and Daisy

Royal and her younger sister. Cynthia Ann.

She leaves to cherish her memory

Children Alicia St. Martin (Kash), Gary Stewart (Crystal), Carl Stroman, Douglas Stroman (Davanna).

Siblings: Sister Pamela Royal Greene: Brothers: Limood Royal, JD. Royal (Cathy), Johnnie Royal (Bridgett), Phillip Royal (Priscilla) and Aunt Mary Louise Chatham and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and dear friends.
