This was the appointed time.
The journey began January 8, 1968 in Van Wert (Scott), Ohio. He had an older brother, Victor and later a sister, Valerie. Vince attended Heritage Christian School, Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Missionary Accelerated Education. He gained ministry experience in the Captain Hook Crew, (a family ministry). He was a professional drummer, also played many instruments, and drove the bus at age 16. He had a “hands on” audio engineer degree with a recording studio of his own for graduation, which he expanded and upgraded through the years.
A marriage was made in heaven in 1990 to Stephanie Randolph. In time there would be a family. Emily, Samuel, Jeremy: then from Uganda, East Africa, came Kira, Kendi, and Gift. Melody Joy crowned the family as the seventh-God’s perfect number.
“Big Vinny”, as he was known, had a traveling “Time Machine” on the road ministry. He touched thousands of lives across the nation, teaching kids how to worship. He was a peacemaker from childhood till now.
Vince served as Children’s Pastor in Albuquerque, NM, Sebring, FL to present in Ft. Myers, FL. For years he had been comptroller in his father-in-law’s business, All Star Restoration. If you needed something…call Big Vinny. If he didn’t know how to do it, he’d find one who did. If price was an issue, he was a master negotiator.
At three years old there are photos of him being led by Col. Harlan Sanders into the corporate offices of KFC in Lexington, KY. He was filmed with Mother Teresa in Calcutta. He produced the T.V. show “Kidz Network” from 2008-2011 airing on satellites and still ongoing in several places.
The day after Christmas December 26, 2015 at 4:15, God said, “It’s time.” The angels were dispatched. They picked him up in Lehigh Acres and carried him upward through the clouds into Heaven’s domain. He was ushered into the presence of God.
They saw him coming…his father, Captain Hook, beloved Aunt Dorothy, and Grandma and Grandpa Vaughan. Thousands of comments have been posted on Facebook. Big Vinny’s friends were always “close friends.” One reflected that he was “bigger than life itself.” Certainly, because he has abundant, eternal life.
This is not the end. Big Vinny has just begun. We will meet him in the morning.
A Celebration of Vinnie’s Life will be held at Faith Assembly of God 7101 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33917 on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Faith Assembly of God Benevolent Fund. Info 239-334-4880
