I was shocked and saddened to hear of Pat's passing.  I just sat across the table from him at the Heron Association meeting.  He was his usual jovial, chatty self regaling us with stories about his South Seas Association.  We will miss him, but know he's happy with his beloved wife.

I had the pleasure of spending a few minutes with Pat earlier this year at the bar in the sanctuary.....

What a gem! Never met him before, but we became very close friends very quickly as he talked about the love of his life, his wife. He showed me a picture of his beloved honey that he held tight in his chest pocket. He missed her dearly. 

We cried together over a scotch that he bought me and proceeded to have some laughs.

He is with his babe!

I learned a lot from Pat in 15 minutes!

What a guy.

He was a great downstairs neighbor--always so pleasant and so glad to see us. We will all miss him.
