William Robert Jansen

William R Jansen of Ft Myers, FL and formally Sandwich, IL passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at home.

Bill was born October 9, 1935 in Ottawa IL to George and Marie (Friet) Jansen.

He married married Mary E. Brejc on August 26, 1961. They lived and raised their family in Sandwich, IL for many years. Bill also coached little league from the 60's well into the 70's were he touched many lives. He had a love for all sports especially when his grandchildren were involved. He bowled in many leagues and tournaments through out his life.

He served in the US Army from 1958-1960. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years then retiring to Ft. Myers.

He is survived by his sons: Tim (Julie) Jansen of Somanuak IL, Gary (Kim) Jansen of Sheridan IL, and Daughter Michelle (Frank) Garcia of Ft. Myers FL; Grandchildren; Kristen, Kayla, Trey, Cory, Hailey, and Tyler; Great Grandchildren Carson and Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary , his sister Lucille Vicich, two brothers Don Jansen and Jim Jansen.

The Family will be hold a Celebration of life at a later date.

It will never have been enough time with you. Thank you for being an incredible grandfather and great grandfather. I’m so grateful for all the memories I have growing up and the ones my boys got to make with you while you were here. Those will be some of our greatest moments.

My Dad loved sports and the outdoors. He used to run 10 miles and bike 20-40 miles. Unbelievable that it would be his lungs that would take him. He loved his family, and we loved him. Tough year for a lot of people. Hang in there, we will all get through this together.
