

America was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Fort Pierce for 9 years coming from Philadelphia, PA.
Prior to retirement, America worked as a secretary, youth counselor and drama director at Primera Iglesia Cristrana Misionero for more than 10 years in Philadelphia, PA. She was a graduate of Fargas’ Business College. America had also studied and was very learned of the bible. She loved to cook and was a caregiver to everyone that she knew.
America was survived by her daughter, Noelia “Nellie” Torres Lamplugh(Bill), of Fort Pierce, FL; sister, Ana Rosa Montanez, of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Scott Torres(Jennifer), Steve Torres(Luz Ada), all of Boca Raton, FL; great grandchildren, Tanner Torres, Stephanie Torres, and Jineva Torres, all of Boca Raton, FL.
A visitation will be held 9:30 – 11:30am on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. A 12:00pm Funeral Service will be held at Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce, FL. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
