

Ann Bogley (Catania), born on June 27, 1931, in the Bronx, New York, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2026, at the age of 94. Ann is survived by her devoted husband, James Bogley; her loving daughter, Darlene Dowdy, and son-in-law, Randy Dowdy; her cherished granddaughter, Ashleigh Coons (Husband Brandon Coons); and her treasured great-granddaughters, Ryleigh and Kinsleigh Coons. She also leaves behind beloved nieces and extended family members who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Ann was predeceased by her daughter Jennifer Smith, so-in-law Jeffrey T. Hil, her brother Frank Catania, and her sister Concetta "Dolly" Mattera (Husband, Joseph Mattera). She is now reunited with them in heaven, where they greeted her with open arms.
Born to a Sicilian family that immigrated to the United States, Ann carried her heritage with pride. She was known for her deep love of the Eastern Shore, her fondness for Maryland blue crabs, and her joyful visits to Ocean City. Ann was an avid golfer, card player, and casino enthusiast, and she delighted in teaching her granddaughter how to play gin rummy. She was a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins and an enthusiastic reader. Later in life, Ann embraced new hobbies and a vibrant community in Spanish Lakes, where she enjoyed tennis, bocce, pickleball, and the camaraderie of her neighbors. She was a woman of many talents and passions, and her warmth and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to her beloved church, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located at 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle, VA 22172.
Ann's legacy of love, laughter, and vibrant living will continue to inspire her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
