She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Lessard for 64 years. Born in Quebec, Canada in 1917 to Adelina and Ernest LaRose, the family soon gained United States citizenship and settled in Moretown, Vermont. Annette being the eldest of 10 children was extremely resourceful, patient and kind. She and Arthur had six children and eventually settled in Bristol, Connecticut where they became members of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church. They retired to Upstate New York and then Fort Pierce, Florida. Annette loved to travel, but was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She could whip up an impromptu dinner for 12 at a moment’s notice and was known far and wide for her delicious donuts, pies and pastries.
A devoted woman of prayer and loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother she leaves behind five of her children and their spouses; Robert Lessard, Larry and Claire Lessard, Leo and Bonnie Lessard, Norbert and Jill Lessard, Helen and Anthony D’Agostino, as well as thirteen grandchildren and their spouses; Lisa and Bill Deddens, Arthur Smulski, Bobby and Kristen Lessard, Diana and Steven Lauben, Steve and Sasha Watt, Nicole and Daniel Wilson, Katelyn and John Craig, Charles Johndro, Melissa and Jonathan St. James, Todd and Chauntelle D’Agostino and Matthew D’Agostino, along with 20 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and several surrogate grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister and best friend Yvette LaRose Falconeri and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Gabrielle Lessard Kelly and son-in-law Thomas Kelly, her grandchildren Karen Fantasia, Frank Fantasia and Laurie Smulski, daughter-in-law Carolyn Lessard, great granddaughter Adelina Wilson and great great grandson Taylor Deddens.
A gathering of family and friends for Annette will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 North US Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946. A funeral mass will occur Monday, January 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 407 South 33rd Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34947. A committal service will occur Monday, January 24, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 North Us Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946.
