Born August 16, 1933 in Fairmont, West Virginia and died February 4, 2026 in Indian River County, Florida where she lived for the past 60 years.
Betty worked many jobs in her lifetime – Cape Canaveral, Press Journal, Edwards, Harris & Ward, CPA and Coverwrap and spent time with neighbors, friends and co-workers. Special thanks and appreciation to her friend Kathy whom she had a standing weekly frozen yogurt date with. Thank you to those that cared for her, especially Kaila Shivers, Lacey Heard and Nicole Othmer.
Betty is survived by her sister Linda Grogg of Fairmont. Her son Mike (Dadra) Smith and her grandchildren; Tyler (Calesse), Logan (Tasha), Mason (Kelsey) and Brooke (Coye). Betty has six great grandchildren; Emory, Levi, Crosby, Asher, Ozzy and Shiloh. Betty is also survived by her stepson Donovan (Joy) Nottage, 4 step grandchildren and 1-step great grandchild. She is predeceased by her parents, brother and husband, Byrn Nottage.
A visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home 6026 North US Hwy 1, Ft. Pierce, FL 34946 on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 10:00-10:45 AM. Graveside service will be immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM.
