

Betty Lee (Dorr) Wallace, aged 89 of Fort Pierce, Florida, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2015.
Betty was born on October 31, 1925 in Lake City Michigan to Edwin and Jennie (Carlson) Dorr. She grew up on a farm in Merritt, Michigan, and attended school in a one-room school house. She received undergraduate and graduate degrees from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
Betty was married in July 1950 to George Ernest Wallace. They lived in Mount Pleasant, Michigan where they raised their family and were active in their church. Betty was a teacher in the Mount Pleasant Public School system for many years, culminating as Department Head before her retirement in 1985.
In 1986, Betty and George moved to Fort Pierce, Florida where they enjoyed traveling, square dancing and a relaxed pace of life. George passed away in 2000.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, George; her infant daughter Sue Ann; her sister Lois, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Sally (James Dunphy) of Fairfax, Virginia; her son James Wallace of Fort Pierce, Florida, her grandson Peter Wallace Dunphy, and her nephew Carl Mathiak, Jr.
Betty found love again when she met her partner, Hank Krauss. Together they traveled the world, square danced, and enjoyed life until her recent hospitalizations.
Arrangements are being handled by Aycock Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, Florida. A memorial service will be held on October 31, 2015 at 2 pm at Community United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan at a later date.
