Carol Ann Jones (Salva) passed away peacefully on Saturday June 25th, 2022, at Westminster Towers in Rock Hill, SC. She was 75 years old. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.
Carol was born on March 25th, 1947, in Lynn, MA to her loving parents, Lawrence and Stella Salva. Her father was a World War II Veteran and worked for the US Postal Service. Her mother was a school principal and teacher.
The family moved to Vero Beach, FL in 1958 where she developed a passion for education and enjoyed spending time reading, singing, going to the beach, and traveling throughout Europe. She graduated from Barry College with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and Florida Atlantic University with a Master’s in education.
She met her husband, Robert (Bob) Jones IV and they were married in Vero Beach, FL on November 30th, 1968. Their two sons, Rob and Larry were born in Boynton Beach, FL, and after moving the family to Pennsylvania, they welcomed their daughter Cyndi. Together, they raised their three children in Glen Mills, PA. Carol instilled in her children the importance of education and hard work and actively supported her children in their academic accomplishments and extracurricular activities including her sons’ passion for skiing and her daughter’s equestrian accomplishments in Pony Club. She and her daughter trailered their horse, BC, to events around the northeast, while her sons attended Wake Forest University.
She loved celebrating holidays and was masterful with festively decorating her home with Hallmark and Annalee collectible decorations to make celebrating the holidays special for her family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, watching movies, shopping for a good bargain, and selling items on eBay.
Following in her mother's footsteps, Carol began her career by becoming a teacher herself, instructing students in mathematics. After moving to Pennsylvania, she then leveraged her writing and project management talents to develop a long and progressive career leading the Documentation Control department for pharmaceuticals at Wyeth until she retired.
After retiring, Carol and Bob moved to the Charlotte area to be near their children and grandchildren. Carol dedicated herself to building a beautiful horse farm, gardening, and caring for her loving husband and family. Carol was a proud grandmother and loved gifting her granddaughters with surprises, such as Care Bears, clothes, and books. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Aruba, and celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary during 2018 with family in FL. Orlando, FL. She also enjoyed sharing residence between her South Carolina farm and her childhood home in Vero Beach, Recently, she enjoyed using her coloring pencils to display her artistic talents.
Carol held enormous love for her husband and children. Her devoted Faith, love, guidance, and support were the foundation of her family. She was generous and kind and welcomed all her friends into her life with open arms.
Carol is survived by her son Robert Jones V and his wife Krissy, son Lawrence Jones and his partner Tara, daughter Cynthia Foy and her husband Barry, and three grandchildren, Abby, Sarah, and Ella. Carol was predeceased by her husband Robert Jones V, and her parents Lawrence and Stella Salva.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, July 6th at 9:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2506 Highway A1A Vero Beach, Florida 32963.
Carol will be dearly missed and all who knew her are grateful for the time they shared with her. Those who love her will always feel her presence in their hearts. Carol would want us all to find joy and gratitude in every day and live life to its fullest.
