Charlotte was born on December 11, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to John and Frances Guntkowski, and was raised in Duryea. She later moved with her family to the Florida Keys, and after returning to Pennsylvania to be close to her children, she eventually made her way back to Florida, where much of her family had settled in Port St. Lucie. She lived there for many years before moving to Vero Beach about four years ago. She spent her career in the insurance industry and retired just months ago.
Music was the heartbeat of Charlotte's life. A gifted singer and songwriter, she performed professionally and for the pure joy of it, and she could light up any room the moment she began to sing. She wrote songs, shared them freely, and found her happiest moments with a microphone in her hand or in the audience of someone she loved. Her sons grew up with her voice as the soundtrack of their lives, and nothing delighted her more than watching them sing karaoke.
She adored her condo in Vero Beach and filled her days with people: concerts, church, local festivals, and community events like bingo and karaoke nights. Wherever there was music, laughter, or a gathering, Charlotte was there.
Charlotte was generous to a fault. She had a rare gift for finding the good in everyone she met, and she gave of herself freely to friends, family, and strangers alike. She was a faithful member of Morningside Church in Port St. Lucie.
She is survived by her three sons, Rich, Kevin, and Jason Milewski; her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings John, Karen, and Kenneth Guntkowski; and a large circle of extended family and dear friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Guntkowski.
A service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Morningside Church, 2180 SE Morningside Blvd., Port St. Lucie, Florida. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and the service begins at 11:00 a.m.
Flowers or donations to Morningside Church in Charlotte's memory are welcome. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her VNA hospice caregivers for their compassion and care.
