Chester "Chet" Calvin Huffman Jr. was born June 4, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. Son of Mr. Chester & Mildred Huffman. The oldest of five children, Chester attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church School and then went to Henry Ford Industrial School.
PFC Huffman served his country during World War II as part of the tank regiment. After being discharged he accompanied his family to Virginia. Chet's great love and loyalty to his entire family has always been above and beyond what anyone could ask for. After retiring from various positions he joined his younger brother owning and operating a sawmill that provided the Hadensville, VA community with specialty lumber.
Chester is survived by nieces, Kerry Allen, Grace Fiamengo, Mercedes Huffman; nephews David Huffman and Andrew Huffman, along with a host of friends. Chet was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of Vero Beach, The Virginia Miniature Horse Club, and the James River Driving Club.
There will be a graveside service held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
